Not just normal walking

Today I tried out to walk with some wrist weights just to challenge myself a little bit extra. The weather was gorgeous and I walked fast for 35min and then I did all my physio exercises (squats, squats on one leg, clam exercises, and several stretches) + 20 situps outside. The wrist weights were a nice change to my normal walks and I could feel it a little in my arms afterwards. Love my workouts so much now and I feel so strong! Looking forward to getting even stronger :)

Yogalicious wish list.

As my knee’s healing and I’m back at work I’ve been thinking of going for the yoga session we’re offered at work. The rate is really good and I think it might be good exercise for the knee, but have to double check with my physio therapist and doctor first. Hopefully I will be at it after the Easter holidays. Then I’ll just need to get some new yoga gear ;) My favourite all time exercise clothes shop is ‘Sweaty Betty’ and they’ve got some amazing yoga clothes. These are on my wish list at the moment;

Day 4.

Day four after my surgery and things are going OK. I’m doing my light physiotherapy exercises and trying to keep myself busy with other things. Although I’ve got several things to occupy my mind with I can’t help but getting bored from time to time… I actually miss work so much, I miss the kids and I miss the constant problem solving we have to do in my job. The highlight of my day was that I could bend me operated leg a little bit more than 90˚! I am meant to do this exercise where I bend and extend my leg and try and get as close to 90˚ as possible, achieving 90˚ after a couple of days was one of my “milestones” and anything beyond that is a bonus! I was very happy getting it further than 90˚ and will obviously continue doing my exercises and push myself a little :) I also got a letter telling me to attend physiotherapy on the 1st of March, I cannot wait!

Me bending more than 90˚! Woop woop!

Becoming strong.

As you all know my knee surgery is coming closer and I’ll have to be as strong as I possibly can be, to be able to recover well from the surgery. I have been going for walks and been doing my physio exercises, for a while but today I thought that I’ll up my game a little bit. While I was tidying the flat I found an exercise I game I bought for Rob’s PlayStation 3 a while ago. Had completely forgotten about it, but now I thought I could use it to become stronger. Did a few core exercises, some leg exercises (must have done something like 200 squats!) and some stretches. Then I also did my physio exercises and now I can hardly lift my legs! Hopefully I’ll be strong and fit for surgery and hopefully I’ll recover quickly!

Must recommend the game as well! “My Fitness Coach Club” for PlayStation 3! Such a great game!

MRI-scan.

I haven’t been writing much lately, mainly because I haven’t had much to write. I am lacking inspiration due that my knee has been injured for about 15 weeks now. I haven’t been able to go about my daily life as I want to, haven’t been able to do any exercise so the only thing I’ve immersed myself in s my work, which is taking it’s toll…

However, I am going for an MRI-scan of my knee to confirm the diagnosis my physiotherapist made. Hopefully I’ll get the results soon and I’ll be able to know what to do from there. It has been a very long road to even get to this point, cannot imagine how much longer it will be after this… But I will let you know as soon as I know again!

I’m getting there

My life has been pretty hectic for the past few weeks as I have been trying to settle in my new job and a lot of other things have cropped up that have either stressed me or made me sad… But I think I’m back on track soon..!

My knee is getting better but is still not 100%, I have finally got a physio appointment for Tuesday and will take it from there! Then I’ll see how much exercise I can do and how much blogging I can get out of it ;)
